There is, however, much more to this story. Not only can life become better. It can actually become perfect. Wow! That’s a concept to sink your teeth into. What is a perfect life? After practicing daily meditation for many years one’s nervous system can become so completely purified that it no longer harbors any stress. In such a state all thoughts arrive at the manifest level of reality in an unaltered form. This is what is commonly referred to as “enlightenment.” Many have referred to this state of purified consciousness as Cosmic Consciousness. In this fifth state of consciousness every thought and action achieves full manifestation without being altered or distorted by the residue of past karma. In such a state the individual experiences effortless fulfillment of desires because one is acting in spontaneous harmony with the natural laws governing the physical Universe. One is also freed from the cycle of birth-death-rebirth because all karmic bonds between the individual and life on Earth are eradicated. I frequently hear clients and students say something to the effect of “I am never coming back to life on Earth. Life is too difficult here. This will be my final incarnation.” I hate to burst anyone’s bubble, but we can’t simply decide we aren’t coming back, and make it so. If an individual has not completed all his/her earthly karmic lessons then a return to life on Earth is inevitable. You must achieve Cosmic Consciousness in order to gain freedom. The good news is every human soul will achieve Cosmic Consciousness, whether or not they choose to meditate. This is part of natural law. The better news is you have the free will to accelerate this process through meditation. If Cosmic Consciousness sounds like a desirable state of being then I encourage you to seek out a meditation that works for you and make it a part of your daily routine. Stay tuned for future posts on the sixth and seventh states of consciousness, and I hope to see you at the Learning Light Foundation on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 for my class entitled Journey Into Consciousness.
